Annual Refresher Course

3 Hours

This course is for workplace First Aiders, both First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid at Work personnel, to update and practice their skills during the period of their qualification. It allows the First Aider to maintain confidence in their skills and ability in the event of accident or illness.
 

Course Content

• Assess the situation in an emergency
• Treatment of the unconscious casualty
• Shock
• Control of bleeding
• Seizures
• Resuscitation
• Updating any changes in first aid protocols.

This course does not requalify the First Aider; they will still need to attend the Requalification course at the appropriate time.

Certificates are valid for 1 year or until requalification, which ever is the sooner.

Assessment of the course is on a continuous basis by the trainer
